Atom A1 - Nigel Creightney
Nigel Creightney began his minor hockey coaching career back in 1998 to 2000 as an assistant coach of the Atom A team out of Surrey Minor Hockey. Upon moving to the Royal City and having two boys who took a keen interest in playing hockey, Nigel reignited his passion for coaching the sport and was on the ice between 2016 and 2019 running drills for H1 through to Atom A1 with New Westminster Minor Hockey Association (NWMHA) as the Head and/or Assistant Coach. The recent 2018-2019 Atom A1 hockey season accomplished a Flight 2 President’s Banner.
Nigel, is former NCAA Division 1 player from Colgate University. Nigel brings a wealth of coaching and hockey fundamentals to the NWMHA. He gained his on ice coaching experience running hockey and power skating schools during his junior and collegiate off-seasons.
This season Nigel is once again looking forward to working with a new group of players and parents. His season goals include individual player development to achieve confidence and self-esteem, the promotion of team play in a positive environment, teaching respect for each other and the opponents, and lastly encouraging the players to work hard, while at the same time fostering the pure joy the game.
PeeWee A1 - Jeff Nottingham
Jeff started his hockey coaching back in 1991 after finishing his playing Days in the BCHL and Hockey Canada development programs. He joined his former Coach and GM to help in evaluations of players for the WHL Victoria Cougars in southern Alberta. Since then he been a head coach from Tyke to Midget A within the PCAHA. He not only brings a wealth of knowledge, but brings a fair and unbiased perspective to all aspects of the game.
Bantam A1 -Michael Gallant
Mike has been involved with and enjoyed playing hockey (since the days of tube skates and wooden sticks) while growing up in Winnipeg and during his time in the navy. He's been coaching various New West teams in one form or another for the past nine years. He's looking forward to the opportunity to work with the Bantam rep team this year. His main goals are to ensure the kids continue to have fun playing hockey and to develop hockey players and young adults (though he wouldn't turn down a return trip to the provincials either!)
Midget A1 - Larry Ling
It is with great pleasure in having Larry return as our Midget A1 coach again this upcoming season. Larry has been instrumental in the development over the years in establishing young adults. He takes extreme pride in the success of each of his players accomplishments not only on the ice but their own personal achievements. NWMHA is proud to have Larry returning for another season.
Juvenile - Dwight Noda
Returning Head Coach for our Juvenile team again this season. Dwight is a well respected coach for many years with NWMHA.
